I am a happily married woman of 21 years, a proud mother of seven children, and a loving Grammy. Along my journey, I have acquired a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as certifications in Administrative skills, CPR & First Aid, BSSAC, and Special Education, among others. For nearly 17 years, I have dedicated myself to the field of childcare while simultaneously fulfilling my role as a mother for the past 27 years.

My childcare journey began in the comfort of my living room, where I cared for four wonderful children. Fueled by my passion for nurturing and supporting children, I decided to convert my garage into a state-certified facility, enabling me to care for up to twelve children. After a decade of successfully running an in-home center, I took a leap of faith and opened my very own childcare center.

With every child I encounter, my aim is to positively impact their lives. I firmly believe that children are precious gifts from God, and their early years play a critical role in shaping their future. By fostering effective communication, providing genuine love, facilitating early learning experiences, encouraging hands-on play, and offering unwavering support to families, I strive to empower each child to reach their fullest potential.

Above all, my ultimate goal extends beyond the confines of the childcare center. I aspire to make a meaningful difference in the world by embodying the teachings of Jesus and radiating His love to the parents, children, and staff members who have been entrusted to my care.

Hello! My name is Shawna, I am the Assistant Director at Little Blessings Daycare. Even though I am new to the management side, I have been a teacher to little ones for over 11 years. It became a passion of mine when I volunteered at my daughter’s preschool and I quickly realized how rewarding teaching was. Being called Mrs. Shawna by their little voices is something I will always cherish. My heart feels full when I am around children, and I couldn’t ask for a better place to be! I look forward to many years at Little Blessings and blessing each and every child that comes to our daycare.

Hi there! My name is Alaina Martin. I'm a recently graduated with a bachelors degree, acquiring a certificate in early childhood education in the process! I've worked at little blessings since October of 2021.

As I've grown into adulthood and learned to navigate the world, it's been a blessing to do so similarly with younger children. Helping them explore the world, learn boundaries and love, and grow into their own unique individuals has been a joy.

Teaching children has been a passion of mine since I was young. It's an honor to witness the milestones of these children, such as learning to walk, talk, explore, and communicate emotions, as well as enjoy physical play and experience the joy and affection that come with being a small child.

I am currently attending Fayetteville State University to get my bachelor’s in elementary education to eventually become an elementary school teacher! I come from a big-hearted, close-knit family and am the oldest of three siblings, which has played a huge role in shaping my love for working with children. I’m currently in college pursuing my associate's degree in early childhood education as well as Human and Social Services. My goal is to continue building the skills and knowledge needed to support the growth and development of young learners in the best way possible. Working with children brings me so much joy.
